Melvin Max Reising 1934-2000

MAPLETON, Iowa—-Melvin Reising, 66, of Mapleton died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at his home of injuries suffered in a fire there.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mapleton with the Rev. Edmund Tiedeman presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery at Mapleton.

Visitation began at 2 p.m. and there will b e a vigil wake service at 8 p.m. today at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mr. Reising has a number of relatives in the Carroll area.

Funeral Mass for Melvin Reising of Mapleton was held, Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton.

Mr. Reising, 66, died on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Mapleton. Rev. Edmund Tiedeman officiated the Mass and pall bearers were Jim Coon, Richard O'Toole, Norbert Janning, Richard Drees, Elmer Grote and Art Becker. Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mapleton,

A son of Gregory and Agnes (Janning) Reising, he was born on May 16, .1934, at Carroll. He lived in the Carroll area until his family moved to Mapleton in 1950.

Mr. Reising worked on road construction and then at Odebolt and Cherokee firms. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton.

Survivors, include five brothers, Elmer and his wife, Glenda, of Springfield, Ore., Raymond of Mapleton, Gene and his wife, Dolores; of Los Angeles, Calif., Ken and his wife, Shirley, of Junction City, Ore., and Leonard of Onawa.

Mr. Reising was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Mildred, who died as a young child.
